Hammond & Chippewa Bay

Massena
Located at the top of the County on the Canadian border, Massena is home to the St. Lawrence, Grasse and Raquette Rivers. It has the first set of U.S. locks where vessels coming from the Atlantic Ocean to the Great Lakes must transit, including a viewing area and visitor center where onlookers can watch the locks in progress. Massena also offers recreation for all ages and interests, a historical downtown featuring restored buildings and local shop fronts, and easy access to Canada via the Seaway / Three Nations Bridge border crossing.
Ogdensburg
Intersected by the St. Lawrence and Oswegatchie Rivers, Ogdensburg is the only designated city in St. Lawrence County, It has a rich history of commerce and trade, especially with Canadian neighbors just across the Ogdensburg-Prescott International Bridge. Ogdensburg is a must-see for American history enthusiasts with live battle reenactments hosted annually at the site of the former Fort de la Presentation where the last battle of the French and Indian War between France and Britain was waged more than 250 years ago. There is also an abundance of municipal outdoor recreation and family friendly activities.
Waddington
Located on the St. Lawrence River, Waddington is a picturesque village with historic buildings and a relaxing atmosphere. Enjoy the day at the town beach, one of two village parks, or on the water. Main Street includes some cozy eateries, a local marketplace featuring handmade artisan gifts and a brand-new pavilion and playground geared towards little ones. Waddington is also a hotspot for anglers seeking walleye, bass, pike, muskie and carp.
